The M917 intended to be based off the SCAR-H but GSC's Gun designers decided to used the HK 417 as a base. The Gun has two variants, the Battle Rifle Version and the Grenadier Version. Other than having different variants, it has a gas cooling chamber near the barrel assembly, this cools the hot gases on the chamber thus increasing effective and longevity.
