I don't think i have a technique, in digital art i'm a baffled doodler.
I use photoshop cs5 and Kyle T Webster's brush packs, if thats any help

Reason I ask is because painting with colour on Photoshop is still something eludes me. Haven't worked it out yet.

While i can't advice you directly at the moment, deviantart has an ocean of digital painting resources and tutorials that will make things go 'ahhhh' in your head. It's worth a browse.
