This brood warrior is nice, but can you get the Rachni queen model from mass effect 3 (grassetti.files.wordpress.com/… , vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/m… , and 3.bp.blogspot.com/-NgZPfThQGQI… )? With that specific model, the ones you have (this brood warrior, worker, and soldier), and when you also manage to get the Rachni eggs from the first Mass Effect game too (vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/m… ) it'll make an amazing Rachni story with endless possibilities. So can you get them or no?

Hi Troodon80, I’m here to thank you, and to tell you I’ve used this great Rachni reference (and others…) in a 1h13 video I’ve made called « Mass Effect 3 Final Cut Ending – We Celebrate Our Heroes ».
Youtube Link : youtu.be/pTKJEtzuj-4

I couldn’t have done this film without your models (and others from this website, as well)…
Of course, you’ll see that I’ve credited you at the end of the video.
I’d be so pleased to have your opinion on this film, as your work is part of it. I hope you’ll like it.

You can also check those New Codex Entries / Pictures Galery (some of your models are in there too) : www.9-dragons.com/masseffect
I don’t want to be too long, but if you want to know the precise moments of the film where your models appear, I’d be glad to tell you.
Thanks again so much !

You ever read Spirit of Redemption by Meytel on fanfiction.net? She has Rachni in her story who become a major part of the galactic society.
This is an awesome depiction.

Looks anatomically possible. Do you think there may be an intelligent hive minded insectoid race out there in the cosmos?

Never gave it much thought, but... maybe?

As far as I know this is the queen (wrong colours, perhaps). It seems to be the same model used for the brood warrior, too, just enlarged for the queen. But I can get the others, sure.

To be honest it looks more like the Brood Warrior , though it is quite probable that BioWare just enlarged the model and changed the colours.

Touche! it is...
Now That I notice it, this Rachni doesn't have two horn crest coming out on the sides.

I think it does, or at least looks like it, it's just hard to see from certain angles (notice the first one on the bottom row, where the horns come out the side of it's head; this actually occurs on both the Brood Warrior and Rachni Queen ). The only difference between the Brood Warrior and Queen is where it glows, the colour, and the size, but otherwise it's the same (At least I think, though I could be wrong. I'll go and look through the files again).

Now that I re-notice it... You do have a point there my friend.
Touche!! Once again you beat me when observing.
Looking through this more clearing you do have another point when talking about the glowy spots on the Rachni queen compared to the Brood Warrior.

And looking back. Some Rachni soldiers were pail looking because they had some type of Organic Armor.
Well, In my gameplay they did.

Hehe, I do have the slight advantage of a models to look at .

But I think I will do the Rachni Queen if I can find the textures for her.

Well, for the two games, there's about 40GB+ of files to hunt through (over 150,000 files- between animation files, textures, meshes, etc). The naming system used is pretty easy to understand, though, so it makes it quite a bit easier.

o____o"

I respect you so much right now, that it's not even funny. oAo"
Does it get complicated for you time to time when searching for what you want?

Troodon80 In reply to CenturyKing [2011-12-23 17:04:12 +0000 UTC]

From time to time. But as I said, the naming system used makes it quite a bit easier.

There's a Diff (Diffuse) map and a Norm (Normal Bump) map. Quite a few also have a Spec (Specular), Mask (Transparency), or Tint (RGB Tint) map. Those that don't can usually use the Alpha Channel of the image for the Spec map. In some cases; like the quarians mouthpiece and eye, Legion's optical lens, Garrus' AA armour, Grunt's armour, or anything else that has lights- they use an Emis (Emission) map, if one is not extracted, you can usually use the Alpha Channel from the Spec map (as I said on the Garrus Visor Test the other day), sometimes it's a different channel in the Diff map instead.

It's that easy .
