Have you tried doing two sketches? Like, a really messy one, a cleaner and then the line art? It's a lot of work but sure is a good practice!

Thank you! ;w; I think you should! I now strive for clean sketches, and it helps HUGELY. 

I don't usually focus on sketches, I just doodle some shapes and try to join them together and save my energy for the harder parts. Truth is, it's VERY, VERY helpful if you start training yourself to do clean ones.
