Description This weekend I will attend a fair. For this occassion I wanted to wear most of Arno's gameplay attire minus the blue coat. As always I wanted this hidden blade to be as thin as possible, but still having two tiers of blade extension. I think I did a great job on keeping this thing very slim. Making the gameplay version allowed me to integrate half of the blade into the vambrace. I make these vambraces a bit bigger than my own arms to look more muscilar in the costume (thanks RBF for that tip) and this gives me room to cheat a bit. Basicly the blade part is in between the leather parts, so the only part that is ON the vambrace is the crossbow part .

The whole Phantom Blade (plus the gear at top) is 3 cm thick. The part that is sticking out from the leather is a bit less than 2 cm .

It is a quick build and I will probably change some foam parts, add some buckles to it and I still have to integrate a system to open en close the arms of the crossbow. However, the space needed is allready here, I just couldn't bother to make it now because of time issues. So yes, it's all hand and gravity operated at the moment .

awsome Β what materials did you use to make the vambraceΒ

Thank you! I made it out of leather, plastic and wood.

The vambrace itself is made from leathere backed with isolationfoam.

How does the blade's mechanism work? and what are the tiers made of?

Trujin In reply to DjoshuaG [2015-01-07 01:06:57 +0000 UTC]

The mechanismn is gravity operated and for more details you can visit this page (it uses the same basic buildplan):

trujin.deviantart.com/art/AC-H…

The tiers are made from cablebinders, they come in diffrent sizes and are nice and square to begin with. Buying diffrent sizes make you able to put them together.

But to be honest, I used the same size for this build, only cutting one of them in half and extended them with an other piece of plastic.

Here is a pic for reference of what I mean:Β bin.snmmd.nl/m/m1fywaxww2jk.jp…

Wow! Looks great man. Can I ask a question? What is the body of the hidden blade made of? Thanks!! 😊

Thank you very much! The body of the blade is made with those square plastic tubes to hold wires. Go to my scraps to look up a tutorial about it .

Impressive. I must say with each new Assassin's Creed game, the hidden blade gets improvised intensely.

So slim. :'D Nice work on this, my friend. Just curious, do the bow arms spring open? Also, what are the materials you used to make this wonderful prop?Β

Trujin In reply to Solodarkblade [2014-08-31 20:00:15 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

At the moment they aren't opening automaticly. However I do have the space and method figured out to do this. I didn't have the time yet to implant it though.

Most of this hidden blade is made by these plastic hollow strips you can use to hide electrical wire away. Hope that helps.

Aw man, this looks great. Never seen anything like it. Could you make a tutorial somewhere for it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to TheSilencer146 [2014-08-26 14:56:12 +0000 UTC]

Well I was thinking about making a video tutorial if I ever made another for my GF. But since Elise won't need one I decided not to make an other.

Sorry, but no I guess. If you need some certain pics of it I could upload them to my stash though.

Anyways, I know Mueldex made a fully working PB, so you might want to try that:Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7USCb…

RBF said he would make a tutorail about his blades to eventually. You might want to wait for that .

I'd like to make a Phantom Blade based off of yours, but it's hard for me to make things with just pictures and all. Actually, I most likely couldn't make it if you made a tutorial either. Sadly, I don't have any money to get the materials.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to TheSilencer146 [2014-09-07 12:53:59 +0000 UTC]

Well that's too bad. You shouldn't worry about money though, just be creative. I spent no more than 10 euro on materials for this blade.

What were the materials you used?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Trujin In reply to TheSilencer146 [2014-09-13 10:20:47 +0000 UTC]

Isolationfoam as backing.
Leather for the vambrace.
Plastic and allumiumtape for most of the insignia part and blad.
Cablebinders for the blade.
Wood for the blade tip.
Wood for the crossbow arms.
Some craftfoam for the details.
