Check in your area for a fiber and spinning shop. They'll be able to point you in the right direction towards classes, used spinning wheels and drop-wheels and don't start a loom until you get used to spinning! Some of us (me) have fibre EVERYWHERE!!! I have unwashed wool downstairs, dyed wool upstairs, commercially dyed and painted wool upstairs out of the cats reach, five wheels, 3 drop-spindles I made and one from New Zealand (an Ashford student).....you can get really really into this.
