Description

Asher came to the field the week after Buffy had arrived. She's spent the whole week caring for the cat, walking her, getting to know her, getting ready for her. Her father had even bought her new tack. Racing tack with a Mizpah Investments blanket. She was so excited Asher didn't even notice how tacky it looked.
She got to the field early, letting the big queen out of her box, watching as she walked around and sniffed at the newly familiar sights, scratching at the fake grass, rubbing her back against the northern corner. Asher busied herself cleaning the box, checking the food, water, litter. Then she pulled out the tack.
Buffy sniffed it. She knew what it was for, and a purr erupted from her when she saw it. Asher smiled, ignoring the ever present feeling of her father watching her, and started tacking up her charge with the help of a Shedu Racer.
Once she was on the cat she led her in some small walks first, little circles to get her warmed up on the grass. Asher had ridden horses, but this was her first time on a Shedu. She'd never been so excited in her life. Finally she let the cat have her head, releasing her on the ring, and smiling as she took off in a full gallop.

When the day was done, she put Buffy away, happy with how the training had gone. She couldn't wait to e-mail the Elsevier family to let them know how Buffy was doing.
