interesting...
Gallipolli faced off the Turks and Australians in some of the bloodiest combat of the war, with both sides fighting viciously and brutally for their own reasons...
Thus, it is extremely moving for there to be a statue of one helping the other.
Out of curiosity, why exactly was the statue put up?

exactly, we didn't hate each other.
we didn't know who Australians and New Zealanders really were, never met them until the landings. Basically we were defending the homeland against invaders. And Anzacs were told that we're the people from barbaric muslim fighters who's gonna invade Europe.. so everyone was doing what they supposed to do..
our sources explains Anzacs as the best and the bravest among all other allied soldiers.
As far as I know, assaults or operations were on hold on Christmas or religious days.
thanks for commenting mate, all the best

Yeap Christmas, religious days and often cease fire days to bury the dead. There are many stories of both sides socializing and I wish they had met on better terms.

Now, instead of looking it up, ill ask you. were the Turks and Australians allies or enemies?
