Description
In-depth instructions:1. Draw a sharp squiggly line that starts of thick and gets thinner as it goes down. Be sure to add branches off the original line with the same tapering effect.
2. Copy that line and paste it onto a new layer on top of the First line layer. Lock that layer and colour it the colour you want the glow of the lightning to be (for this i chose cyan blue, but you can use whatever colour you wish. Just make sure its not too dark or too light.)
3. Use a Gaussian blur filter or a blur brush to blur the blue line layer. After that, add a glow filter. (SAI: Shine Luminosity, CSP: Add Glow, PSD: Add) This will make the blue glow of the lightning still shine while the normal part of the lightning is still white. (This is important in order to make the lightning look as bright as possible)
4. Add more glow or filters as you wish and BOOM! You have some decent looking lightning!! Remember that lightning is made of light, and therefore it is VERY bright. It's important to keep the lightning white and the glow a different colour in order to keep this affect apparent.
