Hi,

Second drawing of a car I made up; here's my vision of what mazda's RX-9 should look like.
Of course this is just personal taste and opinion...

All three angles wre based on the RX-7 , cuz I like the shape of that much more than that of the RX8. It's gotta look japanse, and it's gotta look like a mazda, or there's no point calling it one. For this, I made the front grille typical mazda shape, gave mazda wheels, and though I prefer the RX7 some parts were inspired more from the RX8 cuz hey this thing would be the next car so it would have a few more recent design cues in it; like the shape of the side windows, triangle-y bits in the rear headlights and front lights inspired from the RX8 with a bit of a change by adding the indicators as seperate "slashes" under the main headlights.

Now it was actually not that easy doing this - since the RX7 is a typical tuer car, it was quite ghard draiwng a car based on it that didn't just look like a tuned RX7 - I hope I achieved that, I'll let you be the judge - and even though the two-tone idea was half inspired by the veilside RX7 from the film Tokyo Drift, the shape of the car is not supposed to resemble it in any way. I also wanted to keep it half-simple and smooth , too many sticking out bits and vents would have meant 'tuner body kit' lol ...

So to cut that all short; this is how I would have designed the RX9 for mazda; more based on the RX7 than the RX8; but combining newer angled design influences with a smooth, flowing curvy shape.
