Description I just realized I never submitted this! O_O; This has been sitting behind my computer for ages now.

It was a Grade 12 English assignment, to make a portrait of The Duchess or something as viewed by her husband. The guy was very contradicting, so she was hideous and beautiful at the same time.

Everyone else did straightforward cut-out-the-prettiest-parts from magazines (it had to be a collage {sp?}) whereas we all see how I tossed in my own madness into this.

The only thing I don't like is the " unleash your nasty little urges" quip, but it had to have words, and I think he murdered her as well. It's all a blur now. Plus, if I remove it from the pic, the corner is too bland. Yup.

Mind if I ask what poem this is based on? Cause the one that instantly comes to MY head is "My Last Dutchess" by Robert Browning, and I know we sure as hell never studied that one.
(If it is that poem though, I would say that your version suits better than any little "Pretty renditions" would.... I is, after all, the poem that Chris DeBurgh based his song "The Painter" on. Which explains why I know that poem.)

If it's not that poem, though, could you tell me which on it is? ^^ Thanks.

This piece by itself is really nice, though, in a creepy, creepy way. The eyes on the skull (Must.... refrain... from naming specific... type!) up there are my favorite part. Remarkably unnerving.

Oooh! I think that's it! My Last Duchess sounds painfully familiar! As does the author! Lemme quickly check on google...

Some parts are familiar, yet some are new to me. Maybe I somehow got a simplified version of it? Or, most likely, my memory is crap, as per usual. Either way, I'm going to say that's it.

I have NO idea. I've never gotten the poem in school, just off the interenet. I know that I got a simplied "Highwayman" before, so it's not unheard of.....

I likes da' blue piece.

Now, I'm not certain whether this sort of collage is an par with your previous work of just cutting out pictures of dead babies, or squirting Elmers white glue over pictures of peoples faces?

Remember my flag I made with a guy who got shot in the head with a rubber bullet? Or... Was that when I was in Advanced courses? Hmm.

ooh that's nice i especially like the top half and the left side of your piece
the combination of warm colours are really lovely together and the various textures and shapes are very nicely chosen ^^ really like the top skull with the bold eyes and the contrasting zebra pattern surrounding it. the background yellow and red really compliment the eyes also great work

Ooh! Thank you! The red and yellow is some lava, and the zebra pattern is a bunch of people from the Cirque du Soleil in a weird pose. Isn't it amazing what you can cut up out of National Geographic magazines?
