pfft, it's not just the Eva, it's the pilot and the eva. Asuka gets no love, but she has the only decent Eva battle in the entire series. the rest of the big scenes were just "let's shoot it from afar or tag-team it!"

eva 01 only kicked ass when Sho went crazy, the rest of the time it was just shinji whining about how lame he is, lol.

indeed, and she was the most truly tramatized...
most people just hated her arogance :shakes head: no sympathy, and she actually "kinda" pulled herself from her (shock/coma?)
and the battles were pretty short, gotta agree
meh the Unit-01 eating the angel and Bursting through the one angel was pretty cool, regardless they were quite short and wern't exactly fair fights..... Damn getting away from the point

i woulda loved to see 01 kick some actual ass, regardless who's in it

the moments when Unit-01 goes nuts are arguably some of my absolute favorite Eva moments *especially the eating and shedding of the bindings!*

my point was, though, that was simply Unit-01 being her monstrous self. what was beautiful about the Unit-02 vs Harpies battle was that it was the clearest indication of what a syncronized pilot and eva can become. the complete control and mastery of the creature/soul was pretty damn cool.

and yeah, the arrogance thing turns nearly everyone off, but it seemed like a mask from the get-go *to me anyways*. i will never understand why Rei is so damned popular. i think she can be interesting, but jesus, she's so.... dull most of the time.

basically what i'm trying to say is.... 14 YEAR OLDS SHOULD NOT BE SEX OBJECTS!:rant:

^indeed the moments were great (Blasting "Iron Man" during the Beserker scenes)
i saw it in her too, i thought "Oh come on, she can't be this arrogent she's covering something up"

I guess people Like mysterious, i found her a bit intriging, but started loosing intreast in her...
