Description A commission I did for Djomally- check out his DA page at [link] . This design was done for the universe he's created where Humans and Aliens co-exist peacefully, using their technologies to explore the galaxies.

It's basically a power core for a futuristic jump drive inside a spacecraft. It was modelled in Sketchup then worked into in Photoshop.

I'm happy to let you use it (as long as you credit me), but you might want to double check with Djomally (link at the top).

You will certainly credit you! But I will ask Djomally also if he find it acceptable too

Wow! This is fantastic! The clean lines and the soft shading work fantastically together. The glow emanating from the blue core is perfectly executed, and the whole concept is quite brilliant. Not to mention the breathtaking perspective.

I especially love the transparency on the glass floor. Great job!

Thanks a lot Acerus, I was trying to get a clean futuristic feel for the image. The universe that it's based in is a future where (shock) mankind is actually getting along with alien life and not trying to blow it away!

Thanks again!

Neat! ^^
What's the sphere in the middle of the energy beam for?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

djomally In reply to Tiwyll [2008-08-14 00:59:41 +0000 UTC]

inside the sphere is actually the mineral that allows the ship to make instantaneous jump to different parts of the galaxy. the sphere itself is a containment unit that keeps the mineral from giving off too much radiation. the "energy beams" are actually an electromagnetic force field for further containment measure for the safety of the crew

if you would like to know more about the core then please feel free to ask my friend

anytime man, i've got everything on paper somewhere on how it works and
the way the jump drive actually works

picture it like this
you open a door and walk through but instead of going to the other room the door leads to the otherside of the galaxy lol
