Atop the peak of Mount Hōrai stands a woman clothed and crowned with the Moon above, her jaded gaze keeping vigil of the horizon. Yet again, no sign of that foolish little raiment.

A usual tableau for the Rabbit Goddess…

…except for the fruitful gibbous that her belly has once again ripened into.

A twinge through her frame, then soft breathing.

In the months following the departure of her little raiment, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki had discovered that her loom was weaving again. So in a way, things were working themselves out.

And anyway…

The Goddess turns her gaze towards the God Tree, looking fondly upon her Consort.

…she enjoys the process that got her loom spinning.

Turning back to said loom, Kaguya gives it an almost fond rub. At least this raiment-to-be has shown more signs of fitting to her will. Even now, with fruition nigh, her pearly luster remains unblemished. Not a stria to be found. Even its movements perfectly mirror her caresses to her loom.

In her contentment, the Rabbit Goddess allows herself a moment of inquiry. She was flawless, a perfect being, and Harafu had shared in that perfection. How, then, could a loom between them not be in uniform with them? Hagoromo had been the perfect result of their threads, but he deviated. And the less she thought of what had been loomed before Hagoromo, the better.

Another twinge, more insistent this time, and Kaguya doubles over. In a matter of minutes, Hagoromo’s existence will be rendered immaterial.

But first…

She hears soft padding and cloven steps, sees the concerned multitudinous gaze. Licks her lips.

…time to sate one last craving.

Like his predecessor, this one shares his makers’ whiteness and corneous nubs. Unlike his predecessor, however, this one more resembles his warp, his down smoother like hers and his eyes the same jade.

Yes, it is just as Kaguya anticipated: this little raiment was more a reflection of her, fit more to her will, an improvement over Hagoromo. And thus did she name him Uimaru.
