Description
A shot from early this month...and as always..please view largeAfter struggling through kneedeep fresh snow for quite some time i reached this partially open river. This was a particular composition i had been trying to shoot for several months, but the conditions have never been the way i`ve visioned it in my head. This time everything fell into place...
After shooting this one i struggled for another hour to get to another previsualized spot, just to find out it was useless...So i went back to this spot, followed the river downstream and witnessed an intense aurorashow. Managed to get a good one of the show...
I`ve also put up a blog. Something i never thought i would do, but i figured it would be a practical place to post longer stories and info about my photographic expeditions. Feel free to visit: [link]
Have a wonderful day all you great shooters!

wonderful, as well as other aurora shots! how do you manage not to touch the lens while covering the sky with a magic cloth for the most of the exposure?

The colours in these auroras are so intense. here they are a paler green and have a pinkish purple tinge to them, this doesn't happen very often and usually they are white. I wish I could crawl into your Photograph and spend time there, it is so beautiful.

ISO 1600? really? my Nikon D3000 can't do shit at ISO 1600. I thought for sure this was ISO 100.
And how did you manage that long exposure time? f4 doesn't seem like it would be small enough.

nice work. Seems like a perfect spot. What do you mean by you "covered the sky".
