It's a Summer Blockbuster of Monster Size! Yes, the Monsters won out over the mermaids in the general vote, though by only the slightest of margins. I would like to thank everyone for their help and also for some of the great alternative ideas I received, some of which I'll have to come back to and visit at a later time .

This is by far the most ambitious drawing I have ever done, with twelve characters in all! I had a blast designing all of the monsters, particularly The Mummy, who after spending decades roaming about the British Museum alone after dark, has helped himself to some of the gold from the museum's collection, as well as a few of the curator's private cigars. I imagined him being the only member of a club that combined the silent sophistication and arched eyebrows of Mycoft Holmes' Victorian Era Diogenes Club with dinosaur exhibits. Also fun was taking the character of Renfield, not from the book Dracula, but the 1931 movie's mash up of the Harker and Renfield character, and progressing his Thralldom under Dracula, he still carries his pocket watch and pen that Dracula used to sign his ownership of Carfax Abbey. Dracula is the poshest and snootiest of all monsters, what with his rare Bone-brella.

And I couldn't have a collection of monsters without one that actually existed, the Mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex!
