This picture was basically my therapy for when I got a couple minutes in between classes at school. I barely had any time to work on it at all so it took like two weeks to draw!! It was fun though, doing each individual little feather
I did it all in regular pencil, then added colors later. I made three versions, this one, the plain black and white one, and one that looks like my parrot, Skittles. It was originally supposed to be a picture of Skittles, but I like this sort of rainbow-y look better then the one that looks like Skittles

Hehe, it's just so fun, isn't it? I was kind of tired of making all of the feathered creatures I draw look like they're covered in fur, so I guess I took a radical turn! I also think it's pretty cute how my parrot puffs up his feathers, and I wanted to emulate that n.n

I have two little parakeets and they're adorable- always preening each other and cuddling and being poofy, so i know what you mean! they inspire me to draw birds all the time ^^

Lol, everyone tells me I've got so much patience! I honestly feel like it's the same as having enough patience to get a back rub or something, though! Maybe it's only me that feels that sticking your nose in a dusty piece of paper and getting hand cramps is relaxing, though, hehe!

It would be so hard to do feathers in ink! But drawing all the feathers was relaxing, so it was like my therapy
