Description The House

"Come, Come 'round and see what is done."
She beckoned him urgently,
and he stared at her strangely.
There was a tone in her voice, he could not guess
Nevertheless, he did acquiesce
He soon discovered as did she,
The chilling sight, as chilling as one can be...

They were in love,
So passionate
So pure,
Not a thing could touch them
Nor shake them
Up until now..

They were told it was cursed, but they paid that no mind,
There was no other house, the young couple could afford at the time,
The House prayed on the young and in love
they were told that morning.
But the couple smiled and laughed,
and blown off was the warning.

It was old, oh so very old,
and the reek of Death was all around,
Death could be sensed as if to the House it was bound.

Down in the ground, a dungeon with chains hanging
grotesquely from the ceiling
A spiked cage,
Blood congealing
It was all a horror
The couple came to realize
But nothing was more horrific as the sight to come
The big surprise...

Asleep they went on that very first night
Dreams of bloody cages
Faces painted with fright

They awoke to a frightening shriek
And they ran from the room
It was midnight and soon come would their doom

"Come, Come 'round and see what is done."
She beckoned him urgently,
And he stared at her strangely.
There was a tone in her voice, he could not guess
Nevertheless, he did acquiesce
He soon discovered as did she,
The chilling sight, as chilling as one can be

Two bodies lay still on the ground in the hall
Illuminated by the moon which casted shadows on the wall
They recognized the faces
And they stared in shock
A chill went down their spines
It was impossible to talk

They stared at their slain bodies
A bloody mess on the floor
And it was clear to them
Amongst the living they were no more.

Hmm...well, I guess it is quite possible for people to miss...or rather 'forget' about their own deaths, seeing how it's a most traumatic experience. Though I do wonder...what exactly killed them? I mean, it wasn't the house, seeing how there aren't any spikes or whatever else death traps around. Would it have been a vengeful ghost bound to the house? Or was it even themselves, driven to madness?

I do see your point. Oddly enough, my dream didn't explain why is it they died or what killed them or even why they don't remember.
Interestingly, I have never considered it myself. I do like the madness idea and it would fit. Perhaps a second part is in order.
I appreciate your comment

Dreams rarely 'explain' things, but instead leave a lot for interpretation. Bluntly put: When Logic goes to sleep, creativity comes out to play. And especially if we had to suppress our creativity in our daily lives (i.e. School), it really lets loose. Often it's a fortunate thing, that dreams mostly don't register with our memory.

And yeah, I'm somewhat known for thinking...abstractly And I'm always happy, if I can get someone else to think about something they did in a different angle

And you're very welcome
