Based on a dream, this is my anime-inspired series Awakening.

After stumbling into a portal to another world, an alternate reality where technology is more advanced and magic exists, Rome sets off on a journey to find purpose, transforming himself from the mild-mannered, meek young man he was into a noble warrior.

Initially unable to use magic, Rome discovers The Alchemist's Tome, a book containing the soul of the most powerful sorcerer to ever live. With Malachi The Alchemist's guidance, Rome begins to understand the innate nature of magic. He's taken in Maurice and Marie, the father-daughter duo that saved his life, and befriends their neighbor, a young man named Robbie. Robbie and Rome train to become Royal Knights, the kingdom's elite warriors, under the strict tutelage of a veteran named Merrick.

Their peaceful lives are shattered when the kingdom is invaded by King Jonas's sister, leading to Rome exiling himself for months before ultimately returning to try to free the kingdom from the Usurper Queen Jenae and her Dread Knight Klaus.
