OCaps 1: Mage's Memory

Mage's Memory: Public Service Announcement
Mage's Memory is a horrible condition, often caused by incorrectly cast memory spells. It causes mages to forget what they just cast, often rewriting the casters memory to explain away the result of the spell.
The worst thing about Mage's Memory is that so often the caster doesn’t realize that they have it. They can end up inadvertently causing all sorts of problems for those around them, and depending on the type of spell they use their friends are often unable to tell them about the problem.
Remember you could be suffering from Mage's Memory without knowing it. Try following these simple hints to make sure you aren’t at risk.

Mage's Memory: Hint 1
Are a lot of your friends and relations currently on vacation, or away. Remember Mage's Memory can create false memories of why your friends aren’t around.
Make sure you stay in contact with your friends with messages, email, calls, or social media, to make sure you’re not unknowingly in contact with them as fabric.

Mage's Memory: Hint 2
If people are congratulating, you for any reason try subtly asking something to make sure your memory matches what you actually did.
For instance: “Now who can tell me what I did there?”
Remember, tuning the office prankster into your rain coat will get you cheers. Acting like it was nothing as you hang him up will get you laughs. Wearing him for a month without realizing it will get you worried glances and strained friendships.

Mage's Memory: Hint 3
Ask your friends if you can hold onto something of theirs before you transform them.
If you find yourself holding something of you friends, make sure you know where that friend it.

Mage's Memory: Hint 4
Establish a routine about when you throw out items your replacing. Don’t throw the item away your holding the receipt for the new one. If you can’t find the receipt make sure your replacement isn’t your friend.
By paying attention to this you won’t leave your friends stuck as your appliances every time you need a new toaster.

Mage's Memory: Hint 5
Mage's Memory is a problem for everyone, not just the casters. Help you magically inclined friends by commenting on their spells after they cast them. If they don’t remember the spells they just cast, then you know there is a major problem, and it will end up affect you.

Mage's Memory: Hint 6
Try adding some flash to your spells.
If you add some side effects like the scent of fresh lemon, or dew drops forming around you, apart from giving a nice effect to your spell, can also act as an early warning for Mage's Memory.
If you ever notice those effects, but don’t remember casting the spell make sure you know why.

Mage's Memory: Hint 7
Avoid transforming someone where there will be no friendly witnesses. If you and your friend are alone there will be no one to tell you if you are suffering after you change them.

Mage's Memory: Hint 8
Take not of the small things around you. If you notice that you have two cups out, but no one over, or if you find yourself picking new clothing up off the floor, or holding the keys to your car for some reason, take note. These could be a sign of Mage's Memory.

Mage's Memory: Hint 9
Don’t joke. While it may be fun to claim your transformed friend is just a mundane piece of clothing, doing so can make it difficult for your other friends to tell if you really remember your spells.
If you do develop Mage's Memory and your friends think you’re still joking it could cost them months.

Mage's Memory: Hint 10
Put time limits on your spells. If you do have Mage's Memory the thanks of you friends will out weigh the embarrassment of having a forgotten friend you were using change back at an inopportune time.

Mage's Memory: Strings
Mage's Memory is a horrible condition. It causes me to forget spells after I cast them.
I’ve been trying to get around it using strings. The red one one on my pointer finger means I misplaced my car keys and got someone to replace it until I find them. I wonder who it is; I haven’t seen Fred for a couple days.
The green one on my index finger means that my shoes are someone, and I’ll have to change them back soon. It’s too bad they’re super comfortable.
I just wish I knew what the white string on my pinky means. I can’t for the life of me remember.
(It means you ran out of string this morning and asked your friend for help!)

Mage's Memory: Notebook
So a note book definitely worked better than the strings (I definitely need to ask Clair for forgiveness again). Long as I remember to check it, that is
Thank you for helping me try it out, and sorry it took me some time to read your title page.
I just have one more favor to ask, before you take a shower, mind waiting for me to buy a new book so I can copy everything off you before it gets washed off?
