Description
His fingers move across the keys stiffly.
C-to the G,
To the B-to the C again.
What makes him so tired and weak?
He makes a wimper everytime he hits a note perfectly.
I can't help him,
I feel useless.
I scream his name a thousand times,
But he can't hear me or see me.
I sit next to him,
Hearing the beautiful music that is played.
He looks through me,
Though it seems he is looking at me.
His fingers stop.
My heart stops.
I can hear our breathing fall into a steady unison.
His fingers start again.
I can't stand it!
"Stop! Stop the music! It's killing me!"
I scream, but he can't hear me.
I feel a trickle of liquid run down my ear and onto my neck.
I lift my hand and find that it's...blood.
Red, heartache, breathless blood.
The trail falls onto the keys and the boy stops.
He looks at the splotch and cries.
He whispers, "What have I done to deserve this? Let her go!"
My breathing has become rapid as I try to calm down.
I fall into the abyss as he finally realizes I'm here,
With him.
"Baby", he whispers, "I'm so sorry."
"Your too late."
He holds me as I close my eyes for the last time,
