Well that's true, if you assume that all possible timelines are parallel, and memories of them are somehow "bleeding over" into Sans' mind.

the real mystery of this comic is how frisk called out to the bros if apparently, they're mute.
I'm 100% guessing Sans' "name sign" is the sign for "Lazy" but with an S-hand. And he would wear it like a badge of honor.
I'm not sure if you knew this, cause there seems to be a lack of actual signing in this comic and I'm not sure if that's just for simplicity's sake or not wanting to draw the tail end of a word... (i took an american sign language learning course in college. I don't remember all of it but I do remember a lot about the deaf-culture part.) but if one is family or familiar with someone they might get a name-sign for there name as a shorthand instead of spelling it out every time. It's a completely optional thing though. Like a nickname. People often do it with longer names or three-syllable ones. Like usually signing an action word with a letter. Or it can be just the word. Like the most common example is someone signing something similar to "violin" as their friend's name due to the lengthy, dreamy way they talked.
And I am convinced Frisk gave name signs to all their underground monster friends.

Ahah, well, for this comic I guess they're not mute--I do usually write them as such in my fics, but the prospect of trying to figure out how to draw signs effectively and figure out which ones to use in each panel was a little intimidating when I was starting out. I know of some resources I could use now, but it's a bit late OTL
But yeah! I've seen other artists who do take the time and have made short comics about Frisk coming up with name signs for their friends/extended family, and it's always so cute and a lot of fun seeing what they'd think Frisk would come up with for everyone--I think one of Sans' has been 'pun uncle', but 'lazy' signed with an s-hand would also be fitting
However... my decision to not draw signs has consequences and I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do about that, whoops :'D
