I love these birds. They have the guts to stay in Ohio in the winter when the other birds leave. I also really like there call. I have never been able to get this close the them. Did you put out bait? I know some guys use like suger to catch photos of bugs

yeah, just feel a bit of an arse for calling it a raven and then being told it's not. :islamhead:

beautiful. crows get such a bum rap but I think they're elegant. very intelligent too. I heard a story once about a crow sitting on the top of a street lamp on a cold day, and it figured out that when it used its wing to shade the light, the sensor was activated and the light came on, and it warmed itself. anyway, I'm rambling. nice photo.

rambling is great... i'm probably going to end up using that story at one point... it's clever.

you're welcome to. I didn't see it myself, but I heard it from my psych teacher, so it's probably valid. I dunno, I believe it. They're smart creatures.

It is so sad - we don't have any ravens left here.
The city is too noisy for them and there're far too many crows around.
You're lucky to get close enough to the bird
They are a bit paranoid.

Say, this raven looks young, not too big. And it's beak is pretty small... It might be a crow (corvus corone).

Well, ravens are really big, their wingspan is about 1,40 meters - that is huge... Ah black crows are very confusing.

Wha it's ok... I myself can only say "oh that is a raven" by looking at his tail, when the guy flies - raven tail is diamond-shaped, while crows have oval ones.
there's no need to change the name really...
