this is a photo from my york trip, it's of the minsters tower, it's 800 years old (nearly at least) and it's over 200 foot high, i climbed the 279 steps to the top as well.i don't think the picture captured exactly how tall it looks and how it looms over you when you look up at it from the base.

Mmm.. gorgeous. I love old architecture - I like the romantic side of history. Nice capture, but I suppose it doesn't compare to the real thing.

yeah it's cool, originally the minster was all noman, which is all plain and boring, but then about 200 years after it was finished they decided to change it all to gothic so they added all the twiddly bits and gargoyles and pointy arches and whatever.
i learnt a lot, dunno how useful the info is ever going to be though.
