my entry for the Baywatch Show

story:

The sun lay concealed behind the thick layer of clouds that covered the sky, though the weather was still intensely hot. Most of the Equus Ballator mares that resided at and around Unknown Riders Stables decided for a girls day out to cool down. The shade and fans at the stables weren't what these mares were seeking to stay cool. They had all already had their shoulder manes shaves off to keep them somewhat cooler in the hot summer heat but they wanted to swim in some nice, cold refreshing water. Emy and Winter, who'd been visiting from other stables, decided to come along as well. The wild mare, Inferno, knew the perfect spot to take them all to cool down with a nice swim.

Awhile after all the girls had gotten dressed in their swim suits Inferno had took them all to the secret swim hole that she often used. Once all the mares got settled they split off mainly into pairs and did whatever they wanted.

Proe and Tecra were the first of the group of mares to split off together. The two waded across the main body of water to get to the secondary, shallower part of the water. The two quiet mares laid down next to each other, simply enjoying each other's company while listening to the noise in the background.

The fur and skin around Proe's eyes creased together slightly in confusion when Tecra's face vanished under the water and soon re-appeared with an odd round thing inbetween her teeth. "What is that?.." Proe asked quietly, eyeing the pale tan object, soon coming to realize the simplictic beauty it held. Tecra reached over, Proe holding perfectly still for her, and soon the new object was fastened in Proe's horns. "It's a sand dollar," Tecra's voice responded as she pulled back. "Some believe that they resemble the complexity and simplicity of life" She smiled as she explained. Proe smiled back, glancing at herself in the water's reflection.

The two mares flinched back when a splash errupted infront of them and a small calva marked yearling was suddenly infront of them. For awhile the spotted yearling lay on her back, Proe's and Tecra's eyes both locked on hers. The two older mares were a little confused when the yearling seemed to start shaking. She wasn't... cold was she?.. "Who are you?" Proe finally asked calmly

"I-I'm Mei.. Sorry I didn't see you two laying here...I ca-can leave if you'd l-like" The spotted yearling stuttered along to answer Proe. "No, no you're alright, right Tecra?" The white mare replied in a soothing voice. "Of course" Tecra replied with a warm smile. The three mares then settled once again, Mei now somewhat calm around the two. For the rest of the time at the swim hole the three became bettwe aquainted with each other and spend some peaceful time talking and joking.

Towards the back of the swim hole, where the mares came from, stood Dves quietly, she wasn't sure how the swim suit looked on her. She had chosen one that covered most of her body, unlike most of the others, yet she still doubted herself and was worried at how she looked.

Dves' sides heaved in a sigh as her gaze flickered around, watching the other groups laughing and enjoying each other's company. She had always secretly wished she had a friend like that, someone to always be there for her and someone she could openly trust and talk to. Though she didn't want to approach anyone so she knew it was all her own fault she didn't have any friends. She shook herself out of her thoughts and shifted her weight, letting the refreshing cold water lap at her skin that was submerged by the water.

Behind Dves upon the land two black mares could be seen running around and racing over the sandy land towards the water. Suma and Zev had slept in and were scorching hot already, the pitch black coats they bore not helping with the heat at all either. The two had decided on a race to the water, each of the two breaking off to run their own way to try and win.

Suma had took a semi longer route which had a smoother terrain since she knew she would be faster than Zev, while Zev took the shorter way though it was a more difficult terrain. The two ended up arriving at the swim hole at around the same time either way. Suma's pink optics flickered up yo Zev's near white in a silent challege as the two then turned sharply and tore off for what they wanted most at the time, a good swim.

On the way to the swim hole Inferno had noticed a rather young white filly that had cought her interest. When the other mares had spread out to enjoy their time at the swim hole Inferno had approached the youngling and was taken aback by the young thing. "Hey there pretty" The small foal had said before Inferno could even do anything.

"Well, Hello to you to" Inferno snorted back. She glanced at the filly's swim suit and shrugged. She wouldn't put a foal in a bikini but it wasn't her foal to begin with so she had no right to worry like that. "Who are you even?" Inferno snarled. "I'm Emy!" The small thing answered back. Eventually, and reluctantly, Inferno warmed up to the filly and the two ended up spending the day playing together.

As the day passed and the sun startd to fall from the sky, though the mares were still being pelted by hot rays, two unexpected visitors dropped by, much to the mares disapproval. Susurro and Dii, two of the stable's ballator stallions had slipped off to find some fun to pass the day with. The two had heard laughter and voices from where they were wandering and reconized some of them from the stable and so ran over, only to find a body of water filled with mares!

Susurro had been wearing his swim suit, though Dii, well he decided to opt out and go skinny dipping. As the two were about to leap in, they too hadn't seen the three mares laying in the shallower waters, Proe and Tecra had seen the two coming and rolled their eyes, though once Proe saw Dii a shriek tore through her throat, "HE'S NUDE" she screamed, all eyes snapping to the intruders.

As the two stallions continued to advance on the water Winter and Beast made their way over towards them, Beast mostly wanting to just play as the young mare was a bit too innocent still. Winter was leaping forwards, readying herself to cut off Beast, one of her new found friends from the day when Beast had kept trying to play with her.

Winter's optics narrowed at the stallions as she threw them a glare, trying to threaten them to back off away from the rest of the mares. Winter didn't exactly trust these stallion's intentions expecially since one was nude. Noticing Winter's change in mood Beast took off, running towards her friend and throwing threats towards the stallions, trusting Winter.

One of the handlers from Unknown Riders Stables came running in from the mares original enterance, breathing heavily as if she had been running a lot. It was dark out by now and clearly late at night. When she cought sight of the horses she had stopped, turned and her ticked off expression quickly fell.

Shock registered on her face, though it quickly turned to anger. She had been looking for these horses all day long. The stable had planned to take them to the lake to swim with all the other horses, though they couldn't be found when the staff at the stables had went to get them. The woman had been searching for them ever since and they had been here all along... having their own swim day. Wait. Why was that stallion nude...

all the mare's manes were shaved for their comfort
