Holding the notice in his hand, Ge whistles as he steps onto his porch. His valley was currently safe from the migrating mastodons but if he could help the farmlands in lower portions of Tokonta, then he would. The night before, he had tacked up Agidasin for a trek and a hunt, but deep down, he hoped there would many others to help with these creatures. On his porch was his quiver and bow that he grabbed as Agidasin walked up. He stored his items before swinging onto her back. She huffed with his weight but looked back for scratches that she knew she would get. Ge smiled, scratching her cheeks and behind her ear. He glanced back at the rest of the pack as they emerged from their dens, waving to them as he nudged Agidasin to go forward.

The pair started at a brisk pace, using the coolness of the dawn air to not overwork themselves into a frenzy. Ge pulled out his journal, letting Agidasin travel at her own pace through the long grasses of the valley. He flipped through the pages of his self-made maps of the different areas of Tokotna that he had gone through. He pulled the notice out of his quiver that was hitched to Agidasin's side as he placed it next to his maps. Tracing his finger over the different locations mentioned in the notice, Ge started to figure out where they could help the most. Ge nudged at Agidasin's side, clicking his tongue and urged her to move faster.

They raced through the long grasses of the valley until they reached the rocky cropping of the mountains that surrounded them. Ge slowed Agidasin’s pace as they made their way through. After all there was no point in risking injury before the real hunt even began. They listened to the world around them as they travelled in companionable silence. Ge took this time to go over their supplies and slip his journal back in it's safe spot. Ge let Agidasin lead the way as they trekked through the mountain passes and towards the lower farmlands ahead. The trek through the passes went by quickly, at some points Ge got off Agidasin's back and walked along side her to help keep her energy up. He spoke ever so often to reassure her and go over plans on how to hunt the large beasts.

As they finally made it into the rich farmlands, Ge noticed a few different teams of tokotas chasing after different mastodons or handlers leading one of their tokotas to go after the creatures. Ge glanced around to the general population of tokotas and mastodons and nudged Agidasin on. She looked back at him with a question, but he only answered her with a shake of his head. She huffed as he nudged her again to move on. The trumpets of mastodons and the growls and barks of tokotas echoed around them. The handlers shouting out commands seemed almost mousy compared to the calls of the tokotas and other animals around.

Ge and Agidasin moved onto another farmland but were met with a similar situation. Ge couldn't help but smile at all the help that was provided to help the farmers. Ge couldn't help but wonder on the nature of the migration patterns of the mastodons, silently hoping that this wouldn't become a yearly situation. Agidasin stared at the large beasts, snarling as she watched the other tokotas nip at the creatures to get them to move on. Ge scratched at her neck, easing his fingers through her curly mane as he softly encouraged her to move on. She huffed again but dutifully stalked off to the next farmland outcropping.

The next farming grove had less tokotas and people, but seemed to have everything under control. They stayed there for a little while just to make sure before trekking forward. They took a break halfway to the next farmland. Ge slid off Agidasin's back and went over to a small pond, splashing water on his face. Agidasin remained alert, her ears constantly moving as she listened to the distant trumpets and barks. Much to Ge's dismay, Agidasin pushed Ge to get moving onto the next farm.

This one only had a couple of tokotas and a large amount of mastodons munching on the crops. Ge slid off her back, taking his bow and quiver off her tack and joining a few of the handlers who were speaking to a rather irate farmer. Agidasin lifted her head and trotted over to the other tokotas. They sniffed at each other before Ge came over to join the tokotas. There was too much talking for his liking and it was time for action. He put a hand on Agidasin's neck and nodded over to the herd that seemed to be ignoring them.

Ge glanced back to the handlers and farmer before smiling at Agidasin, “Ready for some fun?”

Agidasin's bobtail shook as she huffed at him. Ge chuckled, patting at her neck and readying his bow. He nodded for her to move and she happily started to move forward. The other tokotas watched but didn't join her as she stalked forward. Ge eased an arrow into the bow as he moved to the side to not injury any of the tokotas or Agidasin.

Stepping carefully Agidasin stepped closer, crouched closer to the ground so she could sneak up on a lone mastodon. When she was close enough, she nipped at their back legs, startling the mastodon as they reared back, loudly trumpeting. Ge fired off an arrow, landing in the backside. Ge whistled, alerting Agidasin to back off. The large animal ran off to the rest of the herd, causing all of them to become alert. Ge pushed forward as she back to his side. The herd started pushing away from the fields, dropping what they were eating and gathering together as protection.

Ge readied another arrow as he heard the handlers call out to their tokotas. Agidasin watched Ge until he gave her a nod and she raced forward. She roared as she bit at the mastodon that she had nipped at before. The other tokotas raced to join her attack. The herd start to break up, quite a few trying to race off, but Agidasin focused on the one from before. The injured mastodon waved their trunk, trying to frighten her off, but she dashed under the creature. She nipped at the back legs, while Ge fired off another arrow.

The mastodon raised their trunk as they trumpeted before dashing forward. Agidasin chased after the creature as it broke through the fences, leaving the farm behind them. Ge heard the farmer swear but raced after Agidasin, readying another arrow, while Agidasin lunged up onto the back of the mastodon. She dug her nails into the hide as she bit into the thick fur, while Ge launched another arrow, landing into the side.

A short distance later, the mastodon collapsed dead. Agidasin sits down next to the creature, panting from overexertion. Ge started to pull out arrows, checking over the creature while giving a small thanks for their being.

As the sun set, Ge scratched at Agidasin's head, filling a sled that was loaned to bring home their spoils from the day. He smiled as he slipped onto her back and made the long trek back home.
