I always felt that the premise of the impossible planet and satan pit
were strikingly similar to the semi-vintage video-game "Doom," which
is about a space mining colony getting attacked by satanic demon forces
It's almost as if the Doctor entered a cheat code and got to the boss level of the game

Oh, awesome. Maybe that's where the writers got the idea from. But it's certainly a very in-depth topic that can be explored numerous times, and I like the fact that they didn't end up explaining it. All we knew was he'd beaten it, and it was up to us whether it was really the Devil or not.
And as for your country, it's more the fact that gun laws are so much more lenient there, I'm not actually scared of everyone, persay lol. Like I'm not assuming every single person has a gun, just that there appears to be a lot of people who do, and therefore a lot more violence etc. I don't know for sure as I haven't been there, and I hope you don't think I'm calling you all a bunch of gun-wielding maniacs lol.

Yeah. The weather's pretty good if low humidity and prevailing southwesterly winds are your thing (which they are in my case). Plus we have a low policy on guns (even our police aren't allowed to carry guns at certain times, which makes for larger numbers of black people.)

I love that set of episodes. It really brings home how the Doctor and Rose felt for one another, and it touches on a subject rarely directly approached in Doctor Who; religion.
