Description
Very brief description (and subject to change)The Wosidhe are a creatures born from the union of of woodland spirits and plants.
They mimic humanoids in shape and explore, seeking to learn more about the world and particulairly sentient creatures and their odd alien habits and communities.
Males tend towards purely greens and earthy colours for their vine and bark but some have birch bark or other colours.
The females tend to be much more visually distinct ranging from the same subdued colours of the males to dazzling displays of bright petals adorning their bodies in all manner of colours.
Wosidhe stand tall, around 7 foot average in height, they are strong and hardy but weigh surprisingly little.
DnD 3.X or Pathfinder Racials (Changes may occur)
Wosidhe get +2 Strength and +2 Constitution.
+2 to Heal and +2 to Knowledge (Nature).
Wosidhe do not need to eat but they need regular exposure to sunlight (or equivalent) and water.
Wosidhe are immune to sleep effects and do not need to sleep (though they still need to rest their bodies like other creatures).
Wosidhe recover hitpoints and ability damage at twice the speed of other creatures from resting.
Males get a +1 bonus on fortitude saves and +2 bonus on CMD.
Females get a +1 bonus on saving throws against spells and spell-like abilities.

i really like that!!! it's awesome!!!!
i may be wrong but you wanted to give her a something cute with the pose of the legs didn't you?
but look at the hips. the direction they "look". and now at the leg who is turning. if you think about it, isn't that painful how she stands?
and the left foot of him is a bit off, if you look at his right one.
that's the bad i can see^^
maybe you could add some leaves or roots for more details and more feeling of wooodcreatures!
but i really like both of the poses ! and the bodys with the patterns on it look really cool^^
if you make games and races don't forget to add flaws!! like fire resistance -3(-10) or agility/quickness -2 ? something like that! it'll make the whole thing better^^

Her pose is fine, we went through a few and this one was physically posssible, however why it looks wrong (and I'm going to fix that) is that leg is too short and to far away from the viewer in comparison to the other leg. Same problem with the male actually.
The feet are non-symetrical on purpose as most of their details are.
They have been left bare because if I add more external details then this it becomes hard to give them clothing and equipment without them actually sheering off parts of their bodies.
So if I change the leg length mostly, that should fix em, thanks for spotting the leg oddity.
Flaws I'm not adding by design, the problem with adding flaws is that it activaly discourages certain class combinations, nobody wants to play a Wosidhe Wizard if they get -2 Intelligence for example, but there is no particular reason to exclude those. Instead by focussing only on possitive modifiers you do not punish odd race/class combos but do reward appropriate ones. Punishing players is a last resort, genarally you want to reward, not punish. These guys gravitate towards melee roles but aren't crippled when playing casters, a -2 to a casting stat for example would potentially limit what level spells they can cast without HEAVY investment and how many, it's why 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons did away with them.

ahh okay...
i just had the thought in mind, not to make a race unfair strong and such.
but for example, if you want to pplay as mage/wizard, you won't choose wohidse if there are (just imagining) high elves with a bonus on magic and +2 intellect.
but i think i get it.
you want to let the player be able to choose the race also because of appearance and that would be harder with disadvantages.^^
cool^^

Well all the races will have +2 to two attributes and +2 to one/two skills and 3 or 4 other features.
There are going to be races with +2 to intelligence, like the Saule, Sha and Kitach, who will make better Wizards then average but the Wosidhe will not be worse then average is the basic idea.

Well yes and no, I'm making a setting for a game, a setting for Pathfinder/Dungeons and Dragons 3.5. (the two systems being close enough that content can with minor alterations be swapped back and forth)

Fixed, they both now have correct poses, taking into account the non-human body proportions.

Well thanks, they are one of 8 different fantasy races I'm designing for an RPG project, these definately took the most time so far.
Cheers for the comment.

Pretty much yeah, the idea is to get away from the "standard fantasy setting". To some extent you've got to keep something familiar but at least it gets rid of the stereotypes and most of the pre-assumptions when you kick out elves, dwarves and orcs for example.

that's a pretty awesome idea... and people should do that, i mean, we already have 100s of franchises, games, books, movies, etc with the usual fantasy setting and i think that it's about freaking time we move on.
