Looks a bit strange with the artificial light tho..if it is even visible at all..x3

I only came by that idea when my frandma said,
"i knew you would be great at painting dolls,
you always were great at painting eggs..
they had complete comics on them" x3
Besides that i never done a lot of..lose arm painting.
So i guess thats where i got that skill >__<'

Yeah, I haven't worked much with paint until now. But, my mother bought me a bunch of teenie-tiny canvases because I prefer painting in a small scale. So, that helps.
I'll have to take a picture of it if I do it. I'll make it like an Easter egg on crack or something. lol

I've been looking for a while for a faceup artist I really like, in a style that just works for my characters like none else, and I wasn't having much luck.
Keyword: WASN'T.
That's past tense.
So as soon as I get more money and you open up commissions again, you can expect to hear from me. (Even though I am buying my own supplies so I can practice faceups myself. But obviously, it'll be a while before I'm any good, so I'll just keep calling on you!)

It's always good to try yourself...
i even prefer it if people try faceups them self and commission me...
creates a better understanding of the work that go's into it.
[ive had people expecting the impossible!]
And well,
if you have one commissioned faceup you can use it a bit as an example.
Try to figure out how the lashes and eyebrows have been done.
But..does take a lot of time and work.
And remember that perfection doesn't make a good faceup with character.
Thats why artist faceups are so much more appealing then company defaults.

Oh yes, I don't think I've seen very many default faceups I really liked... They're too clean, too new and perfect, if you know what I'm saying.
Ever since I learned what a faceup WAS, I've been looking up tutorials and tips, staring at every example I can find, and I've been practicing on paper with pencil. (Obviously very different but I'm getting a technique and a style...)
I can't wait for my real paints and pastels! I just know I'll positively FAIL at glossing the first ten times, but that's what practice is for, after all.
In an odd way, faceups seem even easier than drawing... you don't have to worry about drawing the lines of the face just right or the shadows, 'cause that part's already done! It's like a three dimensional coloring book... only way more complicated...

well thats not really true.
You get eyelashes.. and eyeliner...
which is very complicated line work..
because the area your trying to get a even line on
is rounded.[or what ever]
And then you get eyebrows...
and eyebrow hairs...
which are tiny hairs..on a tiny doll..
which will make you blind and clumsy
no matter what.
Then you get the thing where...
you don't have anything to support your hand or arm with
like on paper,
so it's like driving without a chair to sit on.
And the shading,
you still need shading ..
or else the eyebrows will look stuck on
so you need shadow/color that blends
the eyebrows with the skin and eyecase.
And then you need the blush..
and need to aim it to be on the exact right spots.
And it is always pretty to make shadow spots slightly darker.
To make them more intense.
But then it's an art to not make this visible somehow.
So...by the time you have managed
to put a proper eyelid line on the doll..
and realize you still got to figure out how to get
a line somewhere between the lips..
most people give up.

But i trust u won't.
Just take out an egg and start painting on that.
Draw some eyes and lips on it with a pencil,
and try giving it makeup..
besides fun to do [you can even seal it if u want]
it's a cute thing to remember how you started. x3
