Yes, the shield is a bit overused but you've made an excellent job of it!

This is an amazing job, very creative and fresh... I love this kind of logos, because from a standard shape you create something unique and brelliant!!!

That shape is overused....
Just kidding mate.
Overall it has a nice feel. One of the most important aspects of logo creation that so many current DA designers neglect to consider is the scalability.
I would love to see more detail, to the shield, to the shield primarily. However I know that most of the detail would be lost when scaled down, so it would be kind of pointless.
The check mark is solid. The texture, somewhat glassy, and definitely glossy, adds to the depth of the logo.
The only question I have concerns its legibility and effectiveness on different color backgrounds, especially a white background. You would probably have another very similar design with just a few differences to accommodate for a white bg.
Other than that, I really like this one. It has a good feel, it catches your eye, the saturation is tasteful and not overdone, the shield compliments the symbol, and the logo itself is reflective of the brand and concept.
One problem, and a minor one at that, is if this is the original size you designed at. Like most of us you probably just scaled it down for DA as a preview of sorts, but if this is the initial size, you might have some trouble with print work, if you/client do plan to pursue any collateral that is. (I'm assuming this will be used for something and isn't just practice, because if this is practice, it needs to be put to some use ^^).
Keep up the work. You have a lot of talent and creativity, and your work shines with professionalism.
Best regards,
- Alexander Jones
