Description Once upon a time, there was a fetching young wolverine who, wearing her favorite red hood, went skipping through the fields, on the way to her grandmother's house, carrying a basket of tasty goodies.*

A wolf, who was lurking at the edge of the woods, descended upon the young wolverine and said "Hello, little red riding wolverine, and where are you going in such a hurry?"

"To visit my grandmother," said the young wolverine, as demure and maidenly as a gravelly wolverine baritone can be.

"To visit your...to...grand...to..my goodness, what big teeth you have..." said the wolf, who seemed to have lost his train of thought somewhere.

The wolverine nodded.

"And what...big...claws...you have..." said the wolf, in much the same tone as General Custer commenting on the surprising number of locals at Little Bighorn.

The wolverine nodded.

"I'll just bugger off, shall I?" said the wolf.

The wolverine nodded.

The wolf slunk gratefully back into the trees and hyperventilated quietly, and the little red riding wolverine skipped merrily through the woods to her grandmother's house and they ate assorted rodents and watched cartoons and baked cookies happily ever after.

8 x 14 on illo board, mixed media, and I have no idea either, I was just staring vaguely into space and thought "Hey, that story would have been way different with a WOLVERINE!" and...um...yeah. No clue. Trying out a new type of illo board--knowing what I do now, would have planned a lot more foliage, but at the time I was playing it cautious because I wasn't sure how much you could lift off it. Original for sale, perfect gift for any wolverine lover out there who has already exhausted the broad range of wolverine related merchandise, prints also available, visit [link] or send a note if I haven't updated yet.

*Pepperidge Farms' Mixed Rodent Party Assortment, to be precise, a pretty good value for the money, although everybody always picks through and eats the gerbils first.

Aww, I really love the wolverine, she looks so cute. Great coloring and art as always, I can never understand how you do this.

Hehe, the snout kind of reminds me of an african pygmy hedgehog. XD

maybe it's the wolverine in a little red cape, maybe it's the fact that she's skipping....or maybe it's the whole thing...i love it!!! you are so creative!!

cuteness! i really love your classic kind of style where the colors and the images arent popping out at you. its nice to see some old, soft art. i think sometimes things like that make the best pieces because the viewer can spend more time looking at their details without hurting their eyes or being overwhelemed.

Nice picture, although it DOES look a little too "fairy tale" for the comic piece underneth

Oh my how I love this!
Not only is the picture absolutely brilliant, but the little story makes it even more so. This really is super wonderful!

If you were ever to write and illustrate a children's book I'd be first in line to get it. Even if I had to sleep outside the bookstore in a sleeping bag for a few days to accomplish it.
And I hate sleeping outside.

It's a great idea, and pretty funny as well.
I love the happy, carefree look on the wolverine's face, and the exhausted, disappointed expression on the wolf's. The whole picture, with its green fields and blue skies seems so happy and cheerful and spring-like.
