Here are the second batch of pictures from Wayne County I plan on selling as picture postcards and note cards. These are the United Methodist Church, the Come-Unity Center, the Dentist Office, the Middle School and the Elementary School of my home town of Williamson, NY. I took them today with my digital camera. Critique is welcomed and appreciated.

Update: This photo was taken in the spring of 2020. The Firewall Coffee Hall is no longer open. It was run by volunteers as a community outreach organization, but there were never many volunteers and the Coffee Hall barely made any money. Then the pandemic hit causing all restaurants to close for a while, and that meant the end of the Firewall Coffee Hall.

I was involved in the planning from the beginning. The original vision for the Firewall Coffee Hall was a meeting place for youth -- something for them to do after school in a small town with few extracurricular options outside of what the school system offered. What it became was a place for retirees and those disabled from working along with a few local pastors to socialize over a cup of coffee. That's not a bad thing, but it wasn't the original vision. There was very little community support. Part of it was our pricing. For an upscale coffee house our prices were very reasonable, but compared to McCafe and the local convenience stores we were expensive. Part of it was our connection to Christian Fundamentalism. By community outreach I wrote earlier you could insert Evangelism/Proselytism. Some people were open to it, others were offended by it. That probably had an economic impact on the Coffee Hall. I had a few Christians say to me they felt "led" to volunteer but never did. At least we made useful changes to the building for the next tenant by adding two rest rooms, one ADA compliant.
