Description
Sonnet XVIIWho will believe my verse in time to come,
If it were fill'd with your most high deserts?
Though yet, heaven knows, it is but as a tomb
Which hides your life and shows not half your parts.
If I could write the beauty of your eyes
And in fresh numbers number all your graces,
The age to come would say 'This poet lies:
Such heavenly touches ne'er touch'd earthly faces.'
So should my papers yellow'd with their age
Be scorn'd like old men of less truth than tongue,
And your true rights be term'd a poet's rage
And stretched metre of an antique song:
But were some child of yours alive that time,
You should live twice; in it and in my rhyme.

a very interesting nebulous picture, but excellently balanced out.... it makes some sort of statement...or maybe it's some strange sort of anti-nostalgia...i'm not sure... it has a very unique look to it...

i love how the corset reminds me of "madman" jackets... the buckles and white make me think of how rings can reprsent chains in marriages that are "arranged" sometimes you are put into positions that are unbearable for both the wifeand husband. are marriages only performed for family? was this only existent in the past or does it still hold true? are we only strapped into our responsibilities or should it be a considered an honour?
very thought provoking

I like the connection between the two sonnets. This piece and the manakin photo.
An interesting photo, I cannot imagine being trussed up in something like that every day.
Great work.

Perfect conjunction between text and image. Especially in your use and ordering of the corset and the crinoline to mark the boundary between the body -- it's representation as "feminine" and sexuality -- without the body all these signifiers are just indications of "essential" absences -- of "unfilled" representations -- which Shakespeare's play with Petrarchan notions of passion also indicate -- 'this poet lies' -- words as signs which are, themselves, accouterments. Fantastic fantastic work, here.

Wow - you know, it reminds me of some of John Galliano's earlier work (The Good Stuff) I used to love him but he's turned a little ******Untamed***** if you know what I mean...so I've turned my affection to Alexander McQueen**
Anyhoo, I love this - It is just so...Original!! Great texture between the skirt and bodice.

great cropping job - i like how you kept the ideal of the photo without the other issues with it.
and desaturating it (?) - great idea, however you achieved that color.

his sonnet really did immortalize the person to whom he wrote it to, didn't it?
nice photograph. kind of freaky... heh.
