Description
The Imperial 501st Legion celebrates their conquest of the outskirts of Cloud City by building a palace for the Emperor in the ruins of Cloud City's defenses. Here, a platoon of Dark Troopers made from clones who were veterans of Order 66 and the Great Jedi Purge pose in front of the monument along with a couple of AT-AT walkers from General Maximilian Veers' armored division. The monument was erected during the Empire's invasion of Cloud City following Commander Luke Skywalker's confrontation with the Imperial Sith Lord Darth Vader, and the escape of Princess Leia Organa and Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian from the city. Several rebel sympathizers and agents, including a young Jaden Korr, worked with local armed citizens, and helped cause enough chaos which allowed the rebel leaders and a sizeable population within the city to escape. In retaliation, the Imperial 501st Legion launched their assault.

While the 373rd Shocktrooper Corps went off to seize some Tibanna gas platforms "infested" with rebel forces, the 501st assaulted the heavily-fortified outskirts of Cloud City, which was dotted with armored fortresses meant to hold off waves of enemy troops and armor. After some TIE Interdictors blew up some missile towers and cleared the way for a landing, the 501st Legion landed heavy elite shocktroops, veterans of battles like the Siege of the Jedi Temple, the assassination of Queen Apailana I of Naboo, the Fall of Kashyyyk, the seizure of the Rebel Base on Yavin IV, and the Battle of Hoth. These shocktroops primarily consisted of former Phase-Zero Dark Troopers who have been given upgraded Dark Trooper power armor suits more similar to the Phase II Dark Troopers.

The Dark Troopers joined with a unit of AT-ATs under the command of General Veers, and together, they smashed through the heavily-fortified defenses of Cloud City, smashing through fortresses, columns of armored vehicles, the odd starfighter, and entire armies of militia that rose up against the Empire. To celebrate their victory, Darth Vader had the 501st erect a monument to the Emperor in the charred ruins of the city outskirts, and after finishing the monument, the 501st Legion Dark Troopers and AT-AT walkers held a rally, as the 373rd Shocktrooper Corps were now free to invade the inner city and squash the rebel agitators in brutal, street-to-street fighting.
