Hello, Van.Β It's nice to know you're still willing to entertain my comments.Β Obviously,Β I don't know if you have any spiritual beliefs or subscribe to any sectarian value systems of any kind.Β I myself am about as impious as they come.Β My mother has not appeared before me in some astral, spectral or celestial form of any kind, telling me any loving words of reassurance.Β I'm just greeted with nothingness, each and every day.Β This has lead me to surmise thatΒ the prospect of the existence of the anagogical, or the 'afterlife'; if you prefer, is highlyΒ suspect and dubious at best.Β I miss her so dearly.Β You'll forgive this rather graphic and visceral simile, but I feel as though someone sprayed my heart with liquid nitrogen and took a ballpeen hammer to it.Β Sorry, I know that sounds pretty gruesome, but; It's how I feel.Β If you have any thoughts you'dΒ care to share,Β please feel free to do so.Β

Hey, Van.Β On July 24th I celebrated my late mother's birthday.Β She would have turned 81 years young, or as I would have liked to have told her: 81 going on 18.Β Get it!Β A simple transposition of numbers.Β I think there is such a thing as "cosmic irony"; as the single most significant day of her life was observed in the absence of it.Β I count the days, Van.Β Each and everyday that she is no longer with me.Β Equally ironic, is that Death has a way of putting Life in perspective.Β I also wonder if there was some kind ofΒ 'ouroboros effect' that occurred.Β Now, I know this nomenclature generally pertains to ancient mythology; as to be representative of resurrection and renaissance;Β as in, a phoenix rising from it's own ashes, however; asΒ it is allegorically representative of a serpent devouring it's own tail; as in events coming full circle.Β I can't help but wonder; as she died in the month of her birth, did her life come full circle?Β This is very hard for me to write this.Β Her body was cremated and her ashes interned in an urn.Β That is now the sepulture for her discarnate remains; which sits on a mantle piece.Β
If you have any totemic wisdom you wish to impart; perhaps from someone you know who has experienced what I'm experiencing; please, feel free to do so.Β I would very much like to read it.Β All my best to you.
