These are some of the Sketches I did for my Visual Development project "Monuments" that I finished in 2020. Wanted to upload them for a long time, and finally got myself to do it. Enjoy! I wanted to combine a graphical and an illustrative style to symbolize the change the main protagonist goes through in the way he sees the world.

In the story my protagonist finds different portal structures that fascinate him. These are a few exploration on how to stage these structures for the viewer.

"As an explorer was sent into an mysterious, overgrown world finding ruins of an ancient civilization he begins to see the world with different eyes. "
A visual development for an 2-D animated short film. The Focus lies on the stylization of nature and the places, which the protagonist comes across. His fantasies and impressions, his change from the factual view of an explorer to and inebriated mindset of exploration.
