"the story of DEATHNOTE is end"finally finished Desu Noto!!
and i LOVED IT!!! it was fantastic in my opinion.
well, i skipped alot. (namely everything to do with mellow n' yellow)
i had read up to #79 already, then after spotting #108 in Japan in Weekly Jump, i figiured i autta read up! SOOO 3 months later, i skipped up to chapter 100, just to catch everything leading to the end. And SUPER SPECIAL THANX to my good buddy Nikki for trying really hard to help me get the final chapters~ thank you!
i dont think i ever read any manga so intensely. i was right into it~ plus i played all my Akira Ikufube Godzilla songs for old times sake (it makes a killer deathnote soundtrack)
So, like everytime i read sumthing wicked-cool, i gotta draw it.
Tribute to Yagami Raito (not light)
Who has been, and shall remain one of my favorite characters ever! ..in anything!

I love this picture so intensly... The greyscale is a great way of portraying Raito. And the blood [assumingly] on his hand... Aah! Too much symbolism love! *Explodes*

Yep, Death Note was a good one, all right. ^^ And I like "Raito" much better than "Light". Light just doesn't make sense for him, does it? X3
Great picture! I love how it's all black, white, and grey except for one little conspicuous splash (which he seems to be trying to hide in his pocket). He looks very cute. It almost looks like a character from DNAngel in the way you did his face, but that Raito hairstyle is also evident.

I simply love what you did in this...
Death Note is simply my favorite mangΓ‘ ever. Perfect end, Perfect plot and Perfect... everything! I like the coloring you did here, black and gray really fits him and the blood in his hand symbolizes his murderer self. You managed to put in this drawing all of Raito true essence...
*HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD - Don't read if you haven't finished reading Death Note*
From the very beginning he became my favorite character because of his master plans and blowing-off mind... He managed to get off of any circunstances in which he got himself on and he just knew what would everyone do before they even think about doing it... He schemed all of his plans already knowing what the others would do... and he was always right! L was the perfect match for him because he worked excatly like Raito and at the same time, he was dearing and a threat to Raito... I think that L couldn't die in a better way... It made the story have realism in it (which 80% of the mangΓ‘s don't have) and Raito managed to kill 4(or more) people and one Shinigami because of his brilliant mind in the case of L's death.
I think that Mello and Near were a good replacement to L... It was said that L was the best detective ever. If the second part of Death Note were with a better detective than L... That would be stupid... Mello and Near were raised to be the next L... It wasn't really unbelieveble that they together would be as good as L... Near managed to find out who were the new L and because of that who were Kira in 5 years of research. L did the same thing (but he just didn't managed to proove that it was Raito) in just one year. L were and it'll forever be the best one. No doubt.
But we can't simply say that Mello and Near were useless... They made some interesting and quite necessary conclusions that if L had the chance to make those same conclusions, He would be the winner in the game that Kira set to the world. No getting killed by Remu and even would get Misa Amane as the second Kira.

And I really really really need to buy the 13th manga which shows the true name of L. And watch the movies and the anime.
I simply find Death Note to be the best mangΓ‘ ever invented and Tsugumi Ooba & Takeshi Obata are my new gods...

thanx for all that buddy~~ i admit mellow and near were inegral to the story, but honestly, i really lost interest when they came on board. oh btw, im still unsure who the girl is in the last panel of 108. was it Misa/>? or maybe Sayu? unless sayu died, maybe i missed that part

I know... A pool made in Japan during the gap of L's death and Mello and Near's appearence said that more than 40% of the people that read Death Note until then, have given up on it because of L's death... So I understand. I just think that Death Note doesn't have any fails... It's simply perfect. I simply worship it^^
And about the girl on the last panel(excluding the candle one with the final phrase) would be Misa Amane herself since she went unharmed from the hotel and stayed alive. By the way, I'm sorry if you didn't want spoilers but I guess that's a little to late: Sayu didn't die during the story. The only thing that happens to her is be on trauma by been kidnapped. That's All.

Yes, yes... Misa Amane didn't die or gone arrested since Kira's true identity was made clear... she was only on the hotel... expecting that her husband would come back home victorious.
Sayu appears few times on the second part of the mangΓ‘ since she got kidnapped by Mello's people and when released, the shock was too intense for her and she became too frightened.
But before getting arrested she appeared at the HQs and she looked marvelous... Matsuda-san got his jaw hanging as she passed by and realised that she was already grown up and in college.
Just perfect^^.
