Description
I had an assignment to do a cover in guash or acrylic. I have no interest in being a traditional painter, as I am gunning for pencil work in comics, so I turned this into a cover that I could throw in my portfolio.I will ruin this when I paint it, but at least I can use the pencils now

Yes I do, I think you're off to a good start so far as computer coloring goes.
That being said digital coloring is pretty involved and takes a while to master.
When you do your colors consider that the artist has most likely already added in the dark spots via blacks, and indicated where stuff should blend or gradiate via hatching etc. When something is inked really well and has lots and lots of rendering etc you can usually get away with really simple colors, when someone does just the line art they are relying heavily on the colorist.
Start off by doing your flat mid tone, then go back and add in some darks and some highlights.
Search around deviant art, there are tons of tutorials and etc on how to do digital coloring that can help you power up.
Also if you are serious about digital coloring you will want to buy a stylus, just google wacom, I think they start aound $50 and go up to $2k.

i think i got colors down it's probaly just the variation and shades and such that really screw me up. i'm getting a Wacom Intus in a few months maybe then it'd be easier
