At 1515H, a 911 call was received coming from Belt Tower 1 reporting a floor collapse. Battalion 01 signalled a 10-60 and requested the assistance of the Special Operations Command and the Urban Search And Rescue Task Force of the department. Within minutes SOC and USAR arrived on scene and started inspecting the premises of the building and the structural integrity of the connecting bridge and proceeded in placing cribbings and support to prevent possible secondary collapse, while other fire co. initiate the search for the 3 suspected trapped workers. The City Engineer's Office together with the Office of Emergency Services arrived at 1530H and provide adequate information regarding the tower that may guide the rescuers. At 1602H, NFD successfully extricated the last worker and transported to the nearest hospital, fortunately all 3 workers survive,2 workers only obtained minor injuries and multiple cuts and bruises, while 1 worker suffered broken leg and laceration. Upon preliminary investigation of the OFI and CEO, the building collapsed due to the weakend floors caused by the previous fire that occured on the tower. The Mayor's Office ordered a full halt of the renovation while the CEO and OFI investigate further the incident.
