I've been told by a handful of artist's that, as an artist, you have the right to draw whatever you like, and are entitled to draw things that make you happy. Not only that, but drawing yourself with the characters you love is actually very therapeutic and healthy.Here's a little bit of me in Undertale. Been meaning to do this one for a while, partly because of the developing aesthetic of your character with a soul of the color that represents your values. (Based on the colors in Undertale.) Yellow soul is for Justice.
These characters have made me legitimately happy and they're worth more than their pixels.

Wow, I never thought of it that way~ When you say that drawing yourself with a character you love is therapeutic and healthy, that statement really opened my eyes. I might try that for myself.

Nah, doesn't sound weird at all. I'm always looking up to my idol artist's and this particular topic has been coming up quite a bit. So I thought I would try my hand at it.

Now this is something I have not tried that actually sounds awesome. Why have I not done this yet? What I'd give to take a leap of faith with my favorite Assassins. Or play with portal guns. Also...You make for an adorable Undertale PC. 10/10 I would so play you in Undertale.

Drawing myself with characters I like is something I don't normally do, partly because I feel like "self-insert art" is a thing that people think noobs do? I dunno, but a lot of my senpai's have been doing this recently, (including some Undertale artist's), and I've spent a lot of time talking with them on the subject. Some have even said that their therapists have said YES it's good for you, do it.

Self inserts are totally Therapeutic, and not just for the artist. At least from my perspective, when thinking about it. One of my Idols did a lot of self insert art. Which, considering, was therapeutic just to view. It really kind of brings the content to an open ended personal level. Does that seem right?

I can agree with that. I really enjoy looking at a lot of art of self-insert characters, or characters that fit a certain universe that are based on the artist. Particularly if they create and artistic way to depict their feelings and insecurities. Really, that's what art is all about, right? An artist expressing their joys or torments through a visual medium when words just aren't enough.
