I've always thought Liminal Spaces and weirdcore are really neat,, the aesthetic is somehow both super comforting and nostalgic while also being somewhat unsettling. It's just so fascinating to me that something can look so comforting while also having something look off lol. I've wanted an OC based off liminal spaces/weirdcore for a while now, and when my friend designer herself a weirdcore OC I thought it was about time I tried my hand at my own! c: (Though it's worth mentioning they were also somewhat inspired by kidcore and clowns)

This is Sam! They pretty much solely exist in liminal spaces, but they especially like to hang out at colorful or "happy" places like playgrounds, schools, and other liminal spaces that might seem nostalgic at first. They're very very friendly and a bit immature and childish, though they aren't stupid. They don't get many visitors for obvious reasons, but when they do they'll immediately try to become the visitor's friend, and even guide the visitor through the liminal realm! Of course, most of the friends they've made have unfortunately fallen victim to the nature of liminal spaces, and have either gotten lost, gone insane, or died- This happens pretty often and always makes Sam very sad :,) They're an innocent bean, they just wanna make people happy :,)
Although they're innocent, they can also be pretty mischevious! They have the ability to control lighting/shadows around them, so they often pull pranks on visitors before introducing themselves. They'd never hurt anyone but sometimes they accidentally traumatize the poor souls stuck in a liminal space, whoops!
Uhh let's see, what else is there- OH they're really close to Johnny (my friend's liminal-space-based OC), and the two have a sort of sibling relationship. Also I'd like to imagine their voice claim is the Kazoo Kid because 1. It'd be funny lol and 2. I just kinda feel like it fits them

I've been working on Sam's ref for like, I dunno maybe a week now, but dang I'm already super attached haha :,) Love this kid, they're a good.
