Nice shot as well as control of the light. I have two main remarks though: 1) the horizon is strongly crooked, it really leans to the left. How can't you see that? This is something that can easily ruin your photo. You can correct it with almost any image editing software; 2) I know it has much to do with your own personal vision, but why did you take a landscape photograph like this in the portrait format? You can use this format if you want to emphasise verticality in your composition, for example if you have vertical trees or structures, but I'm not sure shooting this flat, peaceful landscape in portrait format was a great idea. But hey, this is just my personal opinion Β

I like the proportion of water to the sky for the composition. The clouds are great too. Did you stay longer or get there earlier for the sunset or sunrise respectively?Β

I start photographing still nature, like landscape, waterscape and plants, but not animal yet. Timing of the day is important to get good lighting for your object, usually the few hours near sunrise and sunset.
You could start with a DSLR with crop sensor first, and then move up to the full-frame sensor one later. For photographing gear, the most important is still the lens. Most bundle DSLR come with standard zoom lens, and you could get a prime lens and wide angle lens when you are more familiar with the camera.

Great shot but I would have straightened the horizon line.

Amazing. I love the lighting and the water reflection and how the clouds are clustered above the sun. Well I love everything about it!

I love the exposure and colours in this shot. It all comes together to give a lovely calm and peaceful feeling.
The only thing I will add is that I would either have straightened up the horizon or tilted it even more. To me the angle it is at just now gives the impression that the camera was held wrong when the picture was taken.
