Description A morning in Egypt is what some would call an experience. To see the sun rising over the mountains of sand, watching the rays peek over the pyramids, gazing at the sand twirling in the morning breeze, looking at the Nile as the surface rippled and reflecting the different colors in the light, and feeling the warmth from the dawn kissing your skin was truly something to behold. There were many citizens that had expressed on more than one occasion that morning was their favorite time of the day.

Atem, however, was not one of those people. He hated the morning. His bed was situated in such a way that as soon as the sun started to peak over the horizon, the rays would stream right into his eyes, even if he was turned away from the window. He didn't even know how that was possible, but it was. He was convinced the Gods wanted to screw with him. Also, ever since Jaden and Yusei had found a way to come to Ancient Egypt, they took it upon themselves to be his wake up call. Normally, Atem wouldn't have minded, but...

"RISE AND SHINE AND GIVE GOD THE GLORY, GLORY! RISE AND SHINE AND GIVE GOD THE GLORY, GLORY! RISE AND SHINE AND!" clap "GIVE GOD THE GLORY, GLORY CHILDREN OF THE LORD!"

"GET OUT!" Atem screamed, tossing a couple of pillows at Jaden and Yusei, who were standing a few feet from the bed. Atem glared at the Atlantian brothers, who were grinning like devils.

"We're gone, bro," Jaden said, smirking.

"Just wanted to be sure you were up," Yusei said, chuckling lightly.

Atem glared at the two as darkness encircled them and they disappeared. He looked out the window and saw a few people already milling about. Stifling a yawn, Atem threw off the covers and got up himself. He pulled on a clean tunic, so tired that he didn't even notice that he had it on backwards. He then walked over to his dresser and pulled on his gold arm leg bands. His went through his actions roboticaly, his morning routine having etched itself in his brain so well that he could go through it with his eyes closed.

When he finally opened his eyes, a little more rested, he found his earrings in his hands. He pushed his golden bangs out of his way to take a look at his right ear. He sighed, seeing the hole in his right cartilage starting to close up. He turned his attention to the little gold hoop sitting on the dresser and decided he was going to ask Mahad for help. Forcing the ring back in his ear would probably be painful...

He picked up the large gold earrings and turned his attention back to them. With half lidded eyes, he secured his earrings into place. He had to fiddle with the left before it went through the proper holes. The left always gave him trouble. Now, he just needed to finish dressing himself. He grabbed the rest of his clothing when Mahad walked in, chipper as ever.

"Good morning, Your Highness," Mahad said with a smile. He received a glare. "Still not a morning person I see."

"I never will be," Atem grumbled, about to secure his gold belts when Mahad stopped him. "Mahad."

"Your tunic is on backwards," Mahad said simply. He quickly fixed the tunic while Atem glared at him. "What?"

"I could have done it myself," Atem said, securing the belts and pulling on the gold collar, backwards. Mahad made to say something, but Atem stopped him. "It's on backwards. I know."

"Why do you not let the servant help you in the morning?" Mahad asked, putting the collar on the pharaoh the correct way.

"I don't want to deal with people this early in the morning," Atem grumbled, rubbing his eyes. He put on his headdress, properly this time, and then began to look around for his cloak. He looked first on the back of the chair. He was sure that's where he put it when he undressed last night. But there was not a single piece of purple fabric in sight. "Mahad, have you seen my--" Atem stopped when he turned to Mahad to see the priest holding the garment, giving Atem a 'it was here the whole time, you nitwit' look. "Cloak. Where--"

"You put it on the bed with the rest of your clothes," Mahad said simply. Atem simply grabbed the cloak from him and attached it to his collar. Mahad's eyes had wandered and landed on the gold hoop sitting on Atem's dresser. He picked it up, looking from Atem to the earring and back. "Would you like me to put it in for you?"

Atem nodded and sat down in the chair. Mahad muttered an appology for hurting him just before he shoved the earring in. It went cleanly through the hole with only a small drop of blood coming out. Mahad wiped it away quickly.

"Time to face the day," Atem groaned, standing up. We walked out of the room with Mahad right behind him.
