Description
It's been a while since I uploaded work here, and that's because about more than a month ago my stylus broke so I didn't have any means of drawing even if I really wanted to do this Ghost Rider piece since the new (horrible) movie was out just last month. But I just carried on even without my stylus and I ended up finishing this, and yes, I used my hands to draw this whole piece.Ghost Rider has been a fan favourite since his popularity boom in the 90's, and I wanted to capture that bad-ass feel that makes him so visually appealing. The leather on the costume is as simple as it gets, and I chose to focus on the flames on his head and the chains to make him pop.
The skull was very difficult to do, and it took me a whole week to finish doing the flames on his head to make sure it matches smoothly and that it doesn't look fake or awkward. The chains were not so difficult, but they were a pain in the ass to do because it took so much time, but I think all the hardwork paid off in the end!
UPDATE (10/26/12): This piece of mine has always been one of my favourites, but I just couldn't deny that something was off about it. After examining it for a while I concluded that I had problems with the skull and the way I executed the flames, so before I continued the new piece that I'm working on, I decided to fix this one up first and satisfy my urge to make it perfect.
The old skull always seemed to angular and big to me, and I fixed it up to look much more horrific and sharp to show more expression in his face. I added a few more details here and there such as the cracks on his skull to make the design look more visually appealing, and I fixed up his leather costume too to give off a little shine.
The most obvious change I made here was the way I did his flames on both his head and his chains, and I am so glad with the way it ended up. The old flames on his chain didn't look like flame at all, and now I made sure to add thorough detail in it to make it look like its burning all over the place, unpredictable and dangerous. The changes I did really gave more feeling to the piece as a whole, and now it seems more like fire rather than just chains that are glowing yellow and orange.

That actually sounds like a great idea, but I wanted to focus on what I can do with what I have so I didn't choose to use PS (plus I don't know how to use it haha!)
But honestly thank you so much for the suggestion!
