Edit: there, i fixed that stupid shadow on Alister's elbow. It was driving me nuts.

And I thought it would have a better feel if it were a bit more glowy.

I sketched this yesterday while the power was out in my house, and then coloured it digitally.

I really don't know if I like how this turned out. I know there are places in it that I really want to try and fix.
Anyway, I thought that I should actually TRY to have a background, or some more detail in furniture or glasses, etc. Also wanted to practise perspective here.

Actually, the idea for this piece came up while ~Twinklestar101 and I were watching Naoki Urasawa's Monster together. We got to the part where detective Suk started to confide in who he thought was a pretty blonde lady (and who we thought was Nina) in a bar, after he starts to get depressed and vengeful about his superior's murder.

Except in this version, we made it a scene from my fanfic. Alister is an alcoholic who's still struggling to cope with his experiences in the Great War. Carrie over there is supervising him. She's strongly against his drinking to solve his problems, but she's such a pushover. He starts to confide in her much more at this point, for reasons kinda unknown.

For those who have read/watched Monster, no, no one is cross-dressing/disguising as Carrie with ulterior motives of getting information ROFL

I had to refer to the manga for how to draw drunk people, or people who are tipsy. Urasawa is a wonderful artist who has wonderful skills with anatomy, landscapes and everything. I love using his work for reference.

Overall, I've got mixed feelings about how this came out.
