Description

So, this year has certainly been an interesting one, and quite an enjoyable one at that too ^^

Let's get straight into it, shall we?

January:

For this month I was mostly taking it easy after drawing so much in December 2018, I settled down with trying a new style of sketching and experimented with a few gifts for some friends

Also started loosing a lot of art motivation for some reason and found it very hard to get any sort of drive to draw much

February: still a very big fan of Into the Spiderverse and still not over the hype I created my first spidersona, Taser! And began doing multiple artworks with her in it, wanting to practice man made landscapes and skyscrapers more, it was also helpful for developing a better human style of art, although it could still do a LOT of work haha! I took a turn on doing complex looking skyscrapers and messing around with lighting and effects, as well as focusing more on little details as I have always done.

March: now trying to take more of a break from doing detailed artworks I decid d to settle down a bit more and finish an art trade I had to do, which was kinda fun as I loved drawing all the little details and experimenting with colours. Otherwise I didn't really do much else that month

April: after seeing Captain Marvel the only thing I wanted to draw was a realistic looking "Goose" now getting the motivation to draw this artwork was an absolute hell, let alone actually drawing it. Now I did use some photos for reference haha, otherwise I'm not sure it would look quite right X'D but as far as fur goes, I wanted to upgrade from the last portrait I did of my old wolf oc shadow, and take on some tips that I got from my friends when it came to shading fur and lighting. Drawing my first realistic artwork was both fun and extremely hard but after three weeks of worth I think it payed off and I'm still pretty proud of it ^^

May: Mentally dying after watching Avengers Endgame I started drawing marvel fan art, when I realised how stupid my humans looked I decided to draw them as dogs. When I discovered there was a community that drew them as cats it only took me a second before I dived right in! ^^

I began creating my own Marvel Cat designs and having fun drawing them all over the place, it was also good feline practice despite the fact that they kinda look like dogs pffftt I have to say that the MCCU community was such a great motivation boost for my deteriorating art motivation and meeting so many new and amazing people was pretty awesome ^^

Also I realised that I wanted to take an extremely long break from doing detailed artworks, so instead of constantly trying to push my skills to the max I decided to take it slow, maybe a bit tooooo slow tbh, but slow enough to have a nice long relax. I decided to focus on putting less effort into my works and start developing a more simplistic way of drawing so I wouldn't concern myself with thoughts such as: how will I find the time for this? Will I ever finish this artwork? I'm too tired for this... THIS IS TOO HARD. so yeah, 2019 was certainly the year of the screenshot style XD

June: Still deep in Marvel Cat hell I began to take interest to Marvel multi Animator Projects (MAPS) and decided to try out for thumbnail contests, even though I knew I had due work to be working on instead lmao (kind of wished I payed more attention to that work then instead of having too much fun with Marvel lol) it was very exciting seeing all the Marvel projects and designs being released

July: Annndddd still going with the Marvel stuff lol, can't really remember much of what happened but somewhere around this time (I think I'm not really sure) I joined discord! Best thing I EVER did, so many new friends and artists to talk with and just have a good time getting to know everyone

I barely drew a thing this month as I went away on a three week camp to a desert in Australia, also where I read the first two Percy Jackson books in the first series : )

August: decided to actually put effort into my thumbnails and make them look less like screenshots and more like proper artworks, it slowed down the progress a LOT and I got less done but boy was it worth it ^^ I also realised that I couldn't draw dragons anymore for some reason and decided to make up for it by drawing that picture of Synister (and also remembered how difficult dragons are compared to cats and dogs XD) behind the scenes I began to get back into drawing dragons again, mostly all on paper and I never posted them haha.

September:

Decided to start developing my "Sona" Raven and give her a proper backstory and family based around it (although I don't really draw them XD) I also read the res of the Percy Jackson books in the first series and dragged myself into PJO hell XD

October:

PERCY JACKSONNNNNN

I am sorry to all the people who just wanted my Marvel art lol

But PJO is just too good if you guys love Greek stuff, heroes with powers, and books... Start reading XD so yeah I fell into PJO and cursed everyone with as much PJO art as my brain and hands could handle haha

Also binged all of Avatar the Last Airbender and got hooked on that too (blame Hermi) XD

November:

A bit more of PJO, started watching The Dragon Prince, as well as re watching Avatar with my brother and a heavy intake of Marvel and Star Wars too (so many fandoms omg 0.0) also started scribbling a little MCSM. So I had more than enough fan art motivation haha, but no motivation for anything else (also began to realise I use the XD emoji thing too much pftt)

December: Well, up to date now haha, this month I've been working on drawing humans, breaking same face syndrome and drawing more dragons in my books. I've also slowly been trying to separate the way I draw cats from the way I draw dogs so that they don't look like some form of dog cat hybrid lmao. I've been hooked on a show called Carmen Sandiego and have been practicing drawing the characters for diversity in both my art and style ^^

So, after all that what are my goals for 2020? Well, I would like to spend more time developing my style rather than detail in my artworks, a lot of screenshots so I can draw as much as as possible cause I was a bit irritated by the lack of art for the early months of this year XD

I'd love to practice anatomy more and further break the same face syndrome. Should be fun XDXD
