its not genetic, you'd be surprised be how much people can move their abs, I saw this video where this body builder was showing how fake those before and after ad's can be, and by simple breathing, smiling, and frowning he made himself look sexy as fuck and ugly as fuck. like the description says this guy probably just took a huge breath in and then pushed out his stomach, anyone could do it.

Perhaps I should elaborate in a really fun way and make the comment more serious than it originally was, a fun silly admiring statement. The man's abdominal muscles appear, in the right picture, very defined and very large. That's not breathing. I'm not surprised by the way breathing alters the body, in fact I've studied it extensively in both an aesthetic and physiological sense ( I used to breath irregularly during exercise, proper timing and technique has helped me both increase my performance, endurance, and is absolutely necessary during my practice of zazen. ) To develop the abs to this degree, is an enormous feat. Go into your bathroom mirror and try to replicate this. My abs look like his do, on the left, if I breath in appropriate manner, but the division and size of the right are the real show of his uniquity.

I dont have abs haha, I just started working out again after having some surgery so progress is a little slow, but i see what your saying. I didnt mean to diminish his abilities (although thats what it sounds like) I guess i should have just worded it better, but I can push my stomach out and make it look a lot bigger than it is, but not to this degree haha, I think we can both agree on this guy having amazing abs tho.

It shows how bias people are- even when it's the same guy.
I think someone should do this kind of photo but with females, and put in a couple different body types- skinny, obese, average and a bit in between both skinny and average and average and obese.
It would be intresting to see peoples opinions.

Great idea! Some people really don't know that even very skinny people can have a prominent belly, depending on the pose, breathing and so on. But you never see that - that's the reason why so many girls think their body is not right

yeah no kidding! I doubt its been done with that intent... but I would love to give it a try, I'm not exactly in the right position to do that though... you'd need some good photography skills, and it would work better if it was done by someone popular with lots of watchers and page views... that would get the best results I think.

does it have to be nude exactly? I don't think they have to be nude. sorry, it's just that I'm kinda religious and I prefer modesty of, and respect for, the human body, not lust and vanity. which is why I don't usually read the comments on these pictures, some people just make me sick :/ I only keep my eye out for these pictures for drawing references... but enough random and useless information :b
If you explain to them your idea people might be more willing to do it... although finding ones willing to do a photo just so we can see how people judge them might be kinda hard...

Only their bellies would have to be nude- a shirt of top no matter how tight or loose would just mess things up, bras or bikini tops would work best, mostly because in my vision the upper and lower halves would be cut off save for a bit of hip action.
