If there was a "Just for shit and giggles" category this would be in it. I'll probably make it a scrap later but this was just too much fun to keep to myself.

Where I work, part of our job is "book plating." This is just sticking "book plates" in books that are going into the collection to mark them as having been donated by this or that person. The book plates are glorified stickers. We'll peeling and stick hundreds of these things in a burst. Since they come 6 to a page, this leaves several pages of waste paper. Since they leave a rim of the sticky paper behind, these can be crumpled up into an impromptu adhesive (though not a very strong one).

One day after doing an absolute ton of book plating I was sitting at the desk looking at the left over paper. I don't know what got into me but I crumpled up 2 of them and saw how it looked. Then I started crumpling up more and adding more too it, using the sticker-paper to hold it together. Eventually I had a little man. He didn't hold together very well, I ultimately had to use scotch tape to augment the sticky-paper. it has no armitage or other support stucture; it's just crumpled up paper. It became...

Like I said; this was just a spur-of-the-moment, just for fun thing. I've thought about taking some coat hangers and using that to form an armitage and try again with V.2, but I haven't gotten around to it. In the mean time, this little guy is the unofficial mascot of Texas A&M University Sterling Evans Library Gifts Department.
