Description
You were sitting in his hospital room, worried sick about him. He had been on the verge of death not too long ago, and even though he was better now, you felt the need to watch over him.

The illness was called the despair fever, and apparently Nagito had the liar disease.

You supposed that meant that whatever he said would be a lie. Well, whatever. You were just glad that he wasn't in a critical condition anymore.

He had been sleeping in the hospital bed, but now he was starting to wake up.

His eyes slowly opened, and, since you were looking right at him, his gaze landed directly on you.

He had a glazed look in his silvery-green orbs, but apparently Nagito could still tell that it was you sitting there.

"_________ is here. I don't want to see _________."

You had to remind yourself that he was lying. Even though his words hurt, he didn't mean it. He was saying the opposite of what he really felt.

"Well, I wanted to see you. I'm happy that you're okay. You didn't look too good earlier."

You had to force yourself to sound cheerful. He was still sick, so you couldn't be too optimistic.

"I don't care about what _________ thinks. I don't like _________ at all."

You smiled sadly. You couldn't wait for him to get better. This was so depressing.

"I hope you get well soon. You really scared me for a while. It's a good thing that Mikan is a skilled nurse."

"I don't care if _________ worries about me. And I don't care if I get better. I'm fine. I don't feel sick at all."

Your smile dropped. Did this mean that he actually felt really bad? But, he would definitely be okay. You couldn't accept any other outcome.

You wanted to hug him so bad, but you knew you shouldn't. The disease could be contagious, and you couldn't risk getting sick. You tried to contain the urge to wrap your arms around him and hold on tight. Instead, you lightly ruffled his hair, which was as soft as the marshmallow it resembled.

"No matter how you really feel about me, or about your illness, I am going to stay here because I care about you, and I want to see you healthy again."

"I don't want _________ to be here. I want _________ to leave."

You smiled, and this time it was genuine.

"I'm sorry Nagito, but that is something I really don't want to do."

And so you stayed.

You stayed because you knew he really wanted you to.

You stayed because you cared.

You stayed because you loved him.
