This has some nice, brave use of color as well, even though the dwarf is partially merging into the background a bit. Did you intentionally pick such a limited palette for stylistic reasons? This picture is fascinating but I'm wondering about the placement of the characters in a very wide arc rather than a close-knit circle. The two characters in the middle are the closest to each other, yet they are angled away from each other and there is a clear gap between them (at least I assume the gray rectangle is intended as a piece of background showing through), suggesting that these two probably aren't lovers, or if they are, they are rather an old couple that is fairly independent and has their own separate interests. The guy is talking to the other woman but there is quite a large distance between them. Placing them all on the same log may have been a bit limiting, because trees rarely have much curvature, so having two separate logs would have allowed introducing an angle. The dwarf is furthest from the light but still seems to be engaged in conversation, rather than requiring more alone-time. I get the feeling he might be the sort of a person who has a tendency to throw interjections rather than taking turns exchanging lines in a direct back-and-forth manner. The light-haired woman is leaning forward a bit, indicating that she probably cares about what the man is saying and doesn't feel awkward or intimidated by it. I like the colors of the sunset but I feel that a more oval composition rather than a wide arc would give a better sense of the forest actually wrapping around them rather than ending right behind the campsite, with the front side only being populated by low boulders.

and i'm super glad you like the color! <33 i do usually stick with a limited palette trying to 'catch' the atmosphere and use only the colors that i feel 'at the right place' here ^^ it's all based on my feelings and associations mostly (and painting rules about color i more or less try to preserve, successfully or not xD)
and i'm even more happy that characters' emotions and relaionships are understandable! the two sitting at the center really are a pair xD
this pic definitely does have a lot of things that could be fixed, although i've started to see them a few days after i finished and uploaded it, as always >___> anyways, i think it's cool and i'm grateful that the commissioner gave me an opportunity to draw such a picture, it has taught me a lot <3
